As a Scandinavian, Andreas Engesvik comes from a natural tradition of minimalism and function. The Uno candle holder is an excellent example of a design that is characterised by shape, discipline and thoughtfulness. The combination of materials gives an exciting, yet unpretentious, candle holder. Uno candle holder is made for a single candle and is just as decorative alone or in groups.
Andreas Engesvik explains
The candle needed a plain base that it could burn down in, without the material itself heating up and risking marking the tabletop. Uno is made partly from aluminium, partly from cork, which are friendly and recognisable materials. The materials work amicably together, and the cork's natural and warm surface interacts simply, yet excitingly, with the cool expression of the metal.
